While the ladies were enjoying the beach at the Red Sea; I took a day long jaunt into Jordan to see the famed facades in the ancient city of Petra! What a breathtaking experience! A long, hot hike down a slot canyon which opens up to the facade featured in the "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" movie. It's quite amazing. But then you hike around to the right and down into the valley and you realize that this is just an appetizer! There is a whole city of the elaborate and gigantic facades. You could literally spend days hiking around and exploring. One day was not enough...but it certainly was incredible!!

After a few days of R&R at the Red Sea we headed back north towards the Dead Sea. On our way, we stopped off at an animal preserve/safari for rescuing animals named in the bible. The ostriches took a particular fascination with us.

After the safari, we arrived at the Dead Sea. This was a super cool place! Many you know I have a problem floating. I just can't seem to do it. So with considerable excitement I waded into the waters and kicked my feet up when I was about waist deep. I floated! It was so much fun! feet up, feet down, any which way. Floating rocks!

The mineral deposits along the bottom were also pretty wild. Huge salt/mineral deposits just piling up everywhere. wow!

The last half of the pics in the album are from our brief stint at Masada. It was fun from a historical/archeological perspective...but hot as all get-out.

The whole reason we took the trip to Israel and Jordan was to attend the wedding of Dahlia and Aran. Two incredibly loving people who hold a special place in our hearts. The wedding was fantastic in a fabulous setting with fun loving and heart warming guests. We spent the days around the wedding staying with Dahlia's parents who opened their home and their hearts to us and made us feel just like family.

An wonderful time was had by all and we wish all the best to the newlywed's and their newly joined families!!
